Sometimes there are hidden files in folders that your server is not allowing FTP to see or remove. This has happened to me when I have made a bad test on my hosted site and created a .svn folder.

I knew it was there but could not remove it. I had to ask my hosting provider to clean out the folder for me.

The re-direct is probably due to a .htaccess file. (And maybe that file would not be shown, files starting with periods are often hidden.)

Probably your best bet is to ask your provider to clean out the folders for you and hopefully that will make things good again.

During setup I get this error:

Log security [is compromised]
Warning!
Zenphoto attempts to make log files accessable by owner only (permissions = 0600). This attempt has failed. The log file permissions are 0604 which may allow unauthorized access.

I understand how to change permissions, but which log files in what folder are we talking about?

The log files in the zp-data folder.

Thank you. Location may be obvious to techies, but perhaps should clarify that in the docs or error message.

I have a ZP install that I did about six months ago. It ran just fine without incident. I haven't changed anything on the site, but now instead of the site coming up, I get a blank screen with this message:

Zenphoto needs to run setup but the setup scripts are not present. Please reinstall the setup scripts.

I literally haven't touched the site in months. What could be causing this problem? Will running the setup scripts fix it?

Thanks, I read that and successfully fixed the problem. I am unsure as to the original cause, however a query to the web hosting company returned this info:

"The problem may due to PHP5.3 that has been installed to GAME server on 2012-08-20. It is possible that your script is not compatible with PHP5.3. You can try to change PHP version for your account back to PHP5.2 by add the following code to your .htaccess :

=========
AddHandler application/x-httpd-php52 .php

Could the change in PHP versions be responsible for my original problem?

I didn't change the .htaccess file, as the site is now working once more. When I ran the setup again, it came back with a list of files that ZP reported as "changed", which included all of my custom pages, along with some other files. I checked the timestamps on all of them, and all were from the same date of about a month ago.

Yes, any change be it files or server configuration triggers this to be sure Zenphoto works correctly. So a new php version would be it. Setup also compares the files to be the same timestamp and all Zenphoto files based on a cataglo for security reasons so no one sneaked something in. Older custom files don't apply naturally (custom files should never be within /zp-core anyway).

Zenphoto works as far as we know up to PHP 5.4.x already btw.

Good to know. Running setup again fixed the problem, so no need to downgrade the PHP version. This web host was one the client had prior to my install of ZP on their site; bad form not to notify users of impending PHP version upgrade!

Thanks for your help!

I updated from 1.4.3.1 to 1.4.3.3. I copied index.php, themes, and zp-core. Setup made a list of about 200 files it suggested be removed. Most were in zp-extensions and zp-core. I clicked to delete them; several couldn't be.

Clicking go seemed to work but when I clicked to delete the setup files, I got:

Warning: require_once(/hermes/bosoraweb053/b1877/nf.**/public_html/images/stock/zp-core/setup/setup-functions.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /hermes/bosoraweb053/b1877/nf.**/public_html/images/stock/zp-core/setup.php on line 26

Fatal error: require_once() [function.require]: Failed opening required '/hermes/bosoraweb053/b1877/nf.**/public_html/images/stock/zp-core/setup/setup-functions.php' (include_path='.:/usr/local/lib/php-5.2.17/lib/php') in /hermes/bosoraweb053/b1877/nf.**/public_html/images/stock/zp-core/setup.php on line 26

Should I do anything? Everything looks ok at this point although it does seem to be working much slower than earlier this morning - that could be completely something else, though.

We will have to look into that, not at all sure why you got the message. But if you got to the point of deleting the files everything is installed. Just maybe the files are not deleted, so you should check.

Everything seems to be working fine. I did not need to manually delete the files. The folder zp-core\setup was deleted during the installation process.

Thanks again for all of your help.

Hello:

I recently changed my site's domain, and now I get this message when I try to go to my galleries:
"Zenphoto needs to run setup but the setup scripts are not present. Please reinstall the setup scripts."

I know you've covered this a lot already -- but would anyone
be kind enough to walk me through the specific steps for
doing this, and to make it SUPER clear? Thanks!

Do you know what Zenphoto version you're using now?

Anlina on "Reinstalling setup scripts"

fretzi,

It's the latest stable version as of April 12th of this year.

acrylian on "Reinstalling setup scripts"

That would be Zenphoto 1.4.2.4 which is not the latest stable release. The latest stable version is 1.4.3.4 from November 12th actually.

Anyway, you need to re-upload the setup scripts from exactly that version. If you don't have the download package of that older version anymore you have to re-download it from our older versions archive first (link on the home page).

Thanks, acrylian. Approximately how long would it take
to do the whole thing? I'll have to hire someone.

Thanks.

You can upload the scripts yourself. Really no need to hire someone. Invest a littlte time and look at the download package. You really can't miss the location of the setup scripts.
